Pro Bono
Kent works closely with the Victim Rights Law Center (VRLC) representing victims of sexual assault and rape in civil legal proceedings to obtain restraining orders as well as shielding the privacy of victims’ medical, psychological, and educational information. The firm’s recent work focuses on establishing digital privacy rights for victims by limiting criminal defendants’ access to victims’ electronic communications, social media and devices. In 2016 Kent received the VRLC Shining Star Award recognizing his exemplary dedication to pro bono representation of the VRLC’s clients.
Kent serves as the global privacy law counsel to an international not-for-profit organization that operates in over 80 countries.
Kent is the former Chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Solo & Small Firm Forum (2020-2023) and the Privacy Law Committee (2014-2016). He continues to serve on the Solo & Small Firm Forum’s Steering Committee.
